Website Updates

February 17th, 2010We updated our website today. The new site might look familiar but there have been a few improvements that might interest our users. I thought I'd outline some of those changes in this newsletter.

HOME PAGE
There's a Flash Slideshow on the home page that wasn't there before. We plan to use this to introduce the various features of the website and have removed the couple of static images that were sort of cluttering up the home page. If you can't see the slideshow, most of the information is still visible in the content below.

You may also notice that the list of songs are now click-able links. These links now take you directly to the shopping cart for each particular song listed. We hope that this will be more convenient for our shoppers.

ONE WEEK SAMPLER
We added a new Subscription. For just $4.99 you can sample all of the videos on our website for 7 Days! If you like what you see and wish to continue your subscription, you might take advantage of the other longer subscription rates for reduced pricing over a longer period of time.

DVD STORE
We plan to introduce new types of products and services beyond just DVD Videos. For example; we are now selling all of our videos in either DVD or Streaming Video.

If you wish to purchase a Streaming Video for life... Simply log-in to your profile on our website, browse to the song that you wish to buy in our DVD Store and use the Paypal "Buy Now" button located under "Purchase Streaming Video". (Note: You must be logged in to see this button) Once you check out of Paypal, your streaming video will be automatically credited to your account and you will be able to watch it immediately. And best of all, each of the videos that you purchase will be available FOR LIFE! Which means, no Subscription Fees required. Just log-in, and go to your Video Library to see each of the lessons that you have purchased. (It's that easy!)

FLASH VIDEO PLAYER
We've increased the default size of the Flash Video Player to fill in the available space a little better. We're hoping to update the player in the coming months too. A few of our members have recommended a feature that will allow you to fast-forward or rewind your videos. (We're working on it for our next big update!)

ACCOUNT SETTINGS
Log-in to your account and click into the Settings area to see some new fields that you can fill out (if you wish). These new fields include; Location, Website URL, MySpace URL, Facebook URL, Twitter URL, About Me and you can now upload a small .jpg image to represent yourself. (All fields are optional) These new fields will be used for Commenting on various pages and products on our website.

COMMENTING
We have built in a new feature to enable our members to log-in and leave comments on each of our products, and on various pages on our website. Comments must be approved by Craig before they go live, so we hope that our members use this as a means to communicate their thoughts and opinions about subjects relating to the lessons on our website.

Members who have filled in the fields for social networking URLs may possibly meet new friends through our website. We suggest that you only fill in these fields if you wish to share your social networking information with other visitors on our website.

CLEAN URLS
This update shouldn't affect our visitors so much, but we're excited to finally take advantage of Clean URLS. All that means is, instead of seeing an address like; index.php?i=3 (for example) you are more likely to see addresses like; craig-wing-biography.html. Because of this change, it is possible that some bookmarked pages may become outdated.

We hope you enjoy the latest updates. Please report any errors or problems that you may experience so that we can fix them right away.

With the summer just around the corner, we have decided to kick off our new website updates with The Beatles song "Here Comes The Sun" (Now available to our Rockstar Club Subscribers). Please check it out!

I released a quick lesson for the guitar solo in Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin available to Rock Star Club Subscribers. This video lesson focuses on the cool riff in the middle of the song, and briefly covers the basic rhythm structure.

Someone pointed out that one of our DVDs was missing from the website. We must have missed it when we changed over to the new subscription-based format. This 2-disk DVD can be purchased once again from our Online DVD Store. The lesson covers the entire song for The Eagles; Hotel California including all acoustic and electric parts. This is the only lesson not included in our Rock Star Club for streaming video lessons.

New DVD added to our archive. This particular video was recorded differently than our previous videos and is only available on DVD. The sound and video quality is a little better, but the DVD menu is not as pretty. The lesson material is really good, and covers the entire song including all acoustic and lead parts.

USERS GUIDE:
Our website provides an assortment of streaming video guitar lessons available for purchase in our Online Store.

GETTING STARTED:
The first step is signing up on our website. Membership is FREE. Just click on SIGN UP from the navigational menu and fill out the form including your name and a valid email address.

Next, check your email. After signing up, you will immediately receive an email from our website that randomly generates a password for your new account. Using the information provided in that email, you can login to our website.

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP:
Becoming a member is necessary for purchasing streaming videos. Your account will give you the ability to login from any computer in the World to access streaming videos that you have purchased from us. These videos are archived and stored on our computer so that you can access them from anywhere. To review your purchased videos simply login, and then visit the PURCHASED VIDEOS section of the website.

MAKING A PURCHASE:
To make a purchase, you must be logged in. Once you are logged in, purchases can be made VIA PayPal. After you have finished your Paypal online transaction, you will be brought back to our website and will be able to review your streaming video lessons immediately upon receipt. Be sure to keep a record of your password. You may view these streaming videos as many times as you like.

MAKING CHANGES TO ACCOUNT SETTINGS:
Most people won't be able to remember the computer randomly generated password that we give you when you sign up. So we provide the ability for registered members to change their password. Log into your account, and look in the Account Settings section to make changes to your password, name, and set your Newsletter preferences.
